UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, LOS ANGELES (UCLA)-UCLA Global Health Program is working in partnership with PIH with a focus on HIV Prevention in Malawi's university system, assisting with PIH laboratory services, assisting with operational research, and collaberating in basic science research in vaccine development.
SIM-Serving in Mission. A large, general mission, SIM has provided funding for remodeling portions of the free AIDS clinic. Most importantly, SIM has two doctors and one lab technician assisting PIH with the care of patients.
HCJB-A radio ministry which started in Quito, Ecuador expanding to a state of the art hospital. HCJB has also provided two doctors and one nurse.
Malawi Ministry of Health-Partners in Hope has enjoyed excellent relations with the Ministry of Health (MOH) since its inception. The activities of PIH were included in the Ministry's Strategic Framework for HIV/AIDS in the Health Sector. Dr. Jansen was part of the team which drafted Malawi's first National Guidelines for Antiretroviral therapy. PIH is now an active partner in training Malawian clinicians and nurses in HIV/AIDS care as well and in the training of VCT counselors.
The National AIDS Commission (NAC)-NAC is the Malawi government's coordinating body for all HIV/AIDS work in Malawi. NAC has generously supported the work of PIH through grants for equipment, staff salaries and operations costs of our work.
